Health Guarantee
Each Cocker Spaniel puppy from Happy Tails Kennels comes with a health guarantee, ensuring they are in excellent health upon arrival. Our breeding program prioritizes genetic health, and to date, we have no history of hip dysplasia, eye disorders (including blindness), blood diseases, kidney or liver issues, hearing loss (deafness), hernias, or other hereditary conditions. We are committed to raising healthy, happy, and well-socialized Cocker Spaniels, giving you peace of mind when bringing home your new furry family member.
- Up-to-Date Vaccinations & Preventative Care: Your Cocker Spaniel puppy will be current on all age-appropriate vaccinations and will have been dewormed and treated for parasites to ensure a healthy start.
- Genetic Health Assurance: We take every precaution to ensure your puppy is free from detectable genetic disorders based on their age and thorough health screenings.
- Veterinary Health Examination: Before leaving for their new home, each puppy undergoes a comprehensive health check by our trusted veterinarian, with detailed documentation of their health and condition.
- Certified Health Guarantee: You will receive a health certificate along with your puppy’s paperwork, verifying their excellent health at the time of adoption.
- Lifetime Protection with Microchipping: Your puppy will come with a microchip registered in your name and Happy Tails Kennels, providing an extra layer of security in case they are ever lost or stolen.

Upon Your Puppy's Arrival
We recommend scheduling a veterinary check-up within three business days of your puppy’s arrival to confirm their overall health. If your veterinarian identifies any health concerns, they should contact us directly for consultation. Please note that we are not responsible for any veterinary costs unless pre-approved and confirmed by our veterinary team as a legitimate health issue.
Your veterinarian will also provide guidance on any required vaccinations and general healthcare specific to your area. If you don’t already have a trusted veterinarian, we encourage you to research and compare options in your community. Look for a vet who is experienced, reputable, and affordable. Always request pricing information upfront before any procedures and consider asking for references or reviews to ensure they meet your expectations.

Healthcare Precautions for Puppies Under 12 Weeks
A puppy’s immune system is not fully developed until they receive their 12-week vaccinations. To protect your puppy from potential health risks, follow these important precautions:
- Vet Office Safety: Never place your puppy on the floor, ground, furniture, or examination table unless you have personally confirmed that it has been properly sanitized and disinfected. While necessary, a veterinarian's office can be one of the highest-risk environments for young puppies.
- Avoid High-Risk Areas: Do not take your puppy to places where dogs of unknown health may have been, including public sidewalks, pet stores, and especially dog parks until their immune system is fully developed and they have received their 12-week vaccination.
- Airport Caution: Do NOT allow your puppy to potty on airport grounds. Thousands of dogs from around the world pass through airports, potentially exposing the area to a wide range of illnesses and parasites. Bring disposable puppy pads or a designated potty area alternative to keep your puppy safe.

Puppy Safety Net
We understand that life circumstances can change—whether due to marriage, housing, financial difficulties, health concerns, or unexpected events. If you ever find yourself unable to properly care for your puppy, please contact us first. We are committed to ensuring that none of our puppies end up in shelters, abandoned, or without a loving home.
We offer two options:
- We can provide a lifelong home for your puppy at Happy Tails Kennels.
- We will assist in rehoming your puppy with a suitable, loving family.
Our commitment extends beyond the sale; we stay in touch with our puppy families to monitor their well-being and maintain the high standards of our breeding program.
Health Treatment Disclaimer
Over the years, we have encountered certain veterinary treatments that may be harmful to Cocker Spaniels. The following treatments are NOT covered under our health guarantee:
Leptospirosis Vaccine: Not recommended until your puppy is at least one year old.
6-Month Heartworm Injection: Not allowed. If your puppy receives this injection, all guarantees (written, verbal, or implied) will be void. However, monthly heartworm tablets are approved.
- Emergency 24-Hour Clinics: Treatment at any emergency veterinary clinic is prohibited under our guarantee. We have seen cases where incorrect diagnoses, excessive medications, or unnecessary procedures have caused harm. If your puppy is treated at such a facility, all guarantees are void.

- Chicken liver – Rich in essential nutrients.

NuVet Supplements Requirement
We strongly recommend that all puppies be given NuVet Supplements for lifelong health and immune support. Our puppies are raised on NuVet, and continued use is required to maintain any health guarantees.
If you already have pets, we suggest adding them to the NuVet program as well.
Failure to keep your puppy on NuVet Supplements will void any and all guarantees.
Refund & Return Policy
Since our founding, we have maintained a strict return policy due to the risks associated with disease control in our kennel. The return of a dog or puppy presents significant health challenges, as contagious diseases such as Parvo, Distemper, Brucellosis, Kennel Cough, and Canine Flu can be introduced into our facility.
Return Policy Conditions:
- All returns require a $2 million surety bond to cover potential losses from contamination.
- Dogs used for breeding are not eligible for returns or refunds.
- Returns due to owner passing away may be considered, but no refunds will be issued due to estate law complexities.
- If teenagers fail to care for the puppy, a return may be accepted, but no refund will be granted.
- Allergy-related claims must be supported by medical documentation from a licensed physician.
30-Day Refund Policy
- Refunds and exchanges are only available within 30 days of purchase.
- After 30 days, no refunds or exchanges will be provided.
We take great pride in the health and well-being of our puppies, and these policies are in place to protect both our dogs and future families.
